The purpose of this section is to expose the existing or future technician with data for analysis.  In this case we have taken data from an EMPATH ESA data collector on motors with known faults.  We have processed the data through Python Jupyter Notebooks and Plotly for interaction.  The data is presented as raw data files and not the expert analytics and machine learning built into the EMPATH (see https://empathcms.com for more information).

The graphics for this training material are interactive – you can scroll over the data to get frequency and -dB and you can left click and drag over portions of the spectra to zoom in. Reset by refreshing your screen or use the tools that pop up while your mouse is over the spectra (the home button) – note you can also screen capture and download an image. Both the high resolution 180 Hz and the 6kHz (sampled down to 1500 Hz, which is more than enough for any defects in this machine) follow.

The spectra and how to analyze it is based upon training materials provided by MotorDoc LLC. It is also a method for those interested in the technology to take a look at spectral analysis (the hard way). Enjoy!
