MotorDoc Podcast 3 Energy and Emissions Associated with a Belted Application

Taking the information we have put together in Podcasts 1 and 2, we apply the method using an EMPATH Electrical Signature Analyzer to a 150 hp motor and fan with overtensioned belts. The energy losses associated with the belts, sheave, static eccentricity and bearings are then evaluated and calculated against the total energy lost over the year plus the associated carbon emissions. As the sheaves and bearings appear to be in good condition, correcting the belt tension would immediately see results. 30 minutes.
