Following reading a few misleading articles on ESA and MCSA by others following the announcement of MotorDoc LLC’s EMPOWER MCSA system, an introductory system to help users determine their ESA/MCSA strategy, it made sense to do a direct comparison of an EMPATH ESA (the most advanced ESA system in the industry) and EMPOWER MCSA. Both systems are applied to a vertical 350 hp, 1800 rpm electric motor and pump on a VFD to show how they compare. Following this is a short ramble about digital transformation and several experiences related to this effort and recommendations.
